BBC Cranford Production

As I said in lecture, I've been teaching Cranford for years, and ranting about how relevant it is, suddenly it is "hot." Or, perhaps, "cool." Or, if you are Marshall McLuhan, either hot or cool.
The BBC has just completed a BBC One television production of Cranford with a big-name cast.

Of course, there have been numerous versions of A Scandal in Bohemia (I happened to see one on State television two weeks ago.) Look for a motion picture of The Withered Arm in your lifetimes.....

I just read the cast, and it says Michael Gambon is to play Mr Holbrook! Which is great because he is exactly how I picture him to be :D.

Very nice! Please tell me how it is, because if it's any good I will too. I ordered North and South as well as Wives and Daughters not too long ago, both were pretty good.
